The Prophecy Continues: LOVE

Goodbye my beloved.
For now I will watch from a safe distance as you embark towards the light.

It was not my time; yet I saw the premonition of death: an intrinsic invitation

of indigo mixed with the opaque vision of what it is like to cross over.

I am left with the songs of your Celtic ancestory as my guides, soaring

with the angels and the ferries of the night. On the flat stones magic resides:

fine tuned history etched in the solid masses of man.

Can you see me any longer from where you stand?

Or have I vanished into the abyss where there

is only a mist and the uniform is disrobed from this vessel.

Do you profess to love me in death as you honored me in life?

If so, will you rekindle the embers slowly dying from the shudder

of a cold night to warm the waning spirit of a mistress left behind?

Was it you last night that visited me with flutter of kisses on paled cheeks?

If so, I grant you permission to take my hand and walk this path on earth with me

as my shadow guide. I welcome you to remain for a while, but the prophecy

is that I remain behind to sing the lyrics you have written for a song yet to be

sung.

Very beautiful words to someone or a situation that has passed. Memory is everything when it is something/someone precious that you had to leave behind or is no longer with you. One of the significant pleasures of life although sometimes bitter sweet, is being able to remember.

We may lose one physically, but their spirit will always go on, living in another form, as well as being part of us forever, in our heart and memories. Nice poem.
